If you’re a self-styled guru or influencer, then you likely
know the value of video content for Instagram.
Smartphone footage can only take you so far. In order to
take your profile to the next level, consider using professional videoproduction services to make your personal brand stand out.
Creating cinematic IG videos is one of the most effective
marketing strategies. All it takes is 3 to 60 seconds to captivate your audience
and get them to subscribe to your channel or follow you on all social media platforms.
Here’s how we produce cinematic videos for your Instagram
profile:
Create Clear Goals
What’s your message? What are you all about? Why should the
world care?
You have less than a minute to impress new followers. So do
it right. Be specific. The tone and feel of your video will depend on what
you hope to achieve by posting it.
Use Storytelling
If you want to attract attention with
your video, then make a video that tells a story. You don’t necessarily need to
make a storyboard, but plan out your video to ensure that you use each second
optimally.
Use a three-act structure. Have an
inciting incident. Basic screenwriting techniques still apply to a 60 second
video.
Lighting Video
What sets apart an amateur film is having proper lighting.
If you’re shooting with a smartphone, make sure to have a lot of day light. If
you’re out at night, get under street lights.
Low light conditions are tough to shoot. This is when a
professional videographer can really make a difference.
Get the Sound Right
If you’re shooting MOS and will apply music in post
production, then sound might not matter. But if you’re vlogging a lot, then
make sure to speak into the microphone. It won’t get rid of static (you’ll need
basic sound editing) completely.
To truly stand out, use a pro cinematographer with
a lavalier to get the sound right.
There is little room for error when it comes to sound in
film.
